So here is the deal...I had a friend from work that had Gastric Bypass in December. She really got me thinking about having it myself. I had been thinking about for quite a few months, but seeing her do it, really got me thinking more seriously. I took the first step and went to the seminar...I definitely qualify! I started Weight Watchers again, as my 6 month program. What I have found difficult is to take the next step and make an appointment with my PCP to get my Letter of Recommendation. I think somewhere in my mind, I figure that since I have actually dedicated myself to my WW weight loss, that by the end of 6 months I won't qualify anymore, so what is the point. However Since it has taken me over 2 months just to lose 13 pounds, I am going to go for it. I am going to call tomorrow and see if I can get in to my PCP on Friday afternoon and request my letter and start my documentation. If by chance at the end of 6 months I don't qualify anymore, well that just means I am healthier which is the ultimate goal anyway, right?
Well on an awesome note, I met my 5% goal this past Saturday. I was very excited to reach it on Valentine's day, since my goal date was actually 2 weeks later on my 5 year wedding anniversary, February 29th. I have set a new goal of making my 10% by 4/4/09. This is Spring Break for my kids. We are planning to head to Florida. So that would mean being down a total of 27.6 pounds by our trip. That would be great if I can do it.
